From concept to completion:
The short-lived bi-monthly broadcast and film production publication Imaging & Sound Magazine ran for 16 issues, starting in July 2001 and ending with its last issue on April 8, 2002. Scuplted the look and feel starting with issue 7 into being on par with other trade publications, acted as the sole art direction, page layout, and design source for each issue, collected and placed all advertising materials from vendors, and collected/delivered materials for printing.
Art Direction:
- each issue's feature article allowed for original treatments of cover art in the form of fun treatments of masthead elements and cover photography
- acted as sole design and art direction for issues 7 through 15
- creation of template structures for overall consistency in brand
- creation of inhouse marketing pieces for running within issues as full page advertisments
Design / Illustration:
- font play for cover art and headlines
- creation of specialty elements like a 3D-modeled palm pilot for the calendar of events and a television for the cover of issue 14
Page Layout:
- responsible for laying out content for 36-48 full-color pages with bleeds
- color corrected and converted imagery and advertising materials for print
Production Management:
- collection and placement of vendor advertising
- collection and placement of staff writer articles and photography
- collection and delivery of materials to appropriate recipients
